As a part of our sustainability vision, we also recognise the importance of responsible sourcing. We are delighted to have our own internal sustainable procurement guidelines to offer our hotels a consistent framework. Our guest rooms are equipped with in-shower dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash to replace single-use plastic amenity items. We are also proud to offer FSC-certified kraft paper packaging and bamboo toothbrushes as our commitment to reducing the use of single-use plastics at our hotels.

To bring harmony and nature into our lobby spaces, we have worked with local houseplant brands to curate our Dao Plant Library. During your stay, guests have the opportunity to adopt a plant to take care of. Each plant comes with its own name, preferences and care instructions. By offering our guests an opportunity to connect with nature indoors, we hope to inspire our guests to take action in environmental protection.

Say goodbye to traditional printed compendiums and welcome our new, biodegradable wooden cube. With just a simple QR code scan, you can access all the essential hotel information you need, including the room service menu, TV channels list, and more. This solution not only provides convenience at your fingertips but also aligns with our commitment to reducing paper consumption and environmental protection. Our Checkin’s have gone paperless as well by introducing robots in our lobby to allow a seamless and clutter free experience.

To encourage a consistent understanding of sustainability across our hotels, we are delighted to partner with EarthCheck as our official hotel certification partner for Dao by Dorsett. EarthCheck is a leading certification that is science-backed. We aim to continue using EarthCheck’s criteria for resources use, waste management and community involvement to continue our positive impact efforts.

We also continue to uplift our communities through encouraging local hiring and offering scholarship programs to ensure equal opportunity.
